HR Addon
Working time tracking with target vs. actual, overtime and breaks.
The HR Add-on is an open-source Frappe app developed by phamos for ERPNext and Frappe HR. It evaluates employee check-ins and calculates working hours, overtime and breaks per day. It was built for the requirements of the German-speaking market, such as mandatory working time recording and statutory break rules. It is available on the Frappe Cloud Marketplace or GitHub.
Working time models
For each employee, you define which weekdays are worked and for how many hours – for full-time, part-time and individual models. Each model has a validity period, so changes in working time are traceable.
Workdays and target vs. actual
For every employee and day, a workday is created with expected hours, actual hours from check-ins, first and last check-in and break time – including weekends and public holidays. Irregular check-ins stand out immediately.
Overtime and breaks
Expected and actual hours give daily overtime and undertime. Breaks are calculated automatically and deducted from working time if enabled; break length is configurable per employee. Overtime is reduced when there is no check-in for an expected period.
Reports and calendar export
The Work Hour Report shows overtime and undertime per employee and day and sums all working times. Approved leave is provided as a calendar file (ICS) that can be subscribed to in Outlook or Google Calendar.
How it connects to other modules
- HR: Uses employees, check-ins, attendance, leave and holiday calendars from Frappe HR.
- Payroll: Overtime and working time as a basis for payroll.
- Projects: Adds total working time to project-based time tracking.
Frequently asked questions
What does the HR Add-on cost? Nothing. The app is open source under the MIT license and can be downloaded free of charge from GitHub or the Frappe Cloud Marketplace.
What is required for the HR Add-on? ERPNext and Frappe HR version 15. Check-ins come from Frappe HR, e.g. via app, browser or time clock.
Does the HR Add-on help with mandatory working time recording? Yes. It records start, end, duration and breaks per day and employee. Whether this is sufficient in a specific case depends on your company's arrangements.
How are breaks calculated? Automatically, based on the break length set per employee. On short days under six hours, the break can be omitted.
How does overtime reduction work? If there is no check-in for an expected period, overtime is reduced. The approval can be documented as a leave application.
Can I see leave in Outlook or Google Calendar? Yes. Approved leave is provided as an ICS calendar that can be subscribed to in Outlook or Google Calendar.
